Not getting a good night’s sleep affects your life on a larger scale than we can really state. It impacts your health, your relationships, your concentration, your productivity, your mental wellness, your friendships and your ability to parent your children. We will just come out and say it - you need to prioritise sleep or you are headed for disaster. Unfortunately, we have been socialised to not consider sleep that important. In fact, a lack of sleep is often boasted about, especially in the workplace. Have you ever heard someone say “I did so much work last night, stayed up until 1am finishing this document and was up at 5am today - but at least it’s done!”. People often congratulate that person on their effort - but this effort can be so damaging - not just to their wellbeing but to their job; ironic really!
Your Job And Your Sleep
Most of us work 7 hours a day minimum, on top of everything else we’re required to deal with in our daily lives. After all, there’s no way you can output at 100% when you haven’t slept properly the night before. In fact, you’d be lucky to give even 50% to your job. Whilst some of us may get away with a few bad days here and there, for others chronic bad sleep turns into stress at work which can lead to performance reviews and even termination. Ironically, the worse your performance, the more you will worry at night and won’t sleep. And this in turn affects your performance - the cycle can be endless and is always a downward spiral. But that’s not going to happen to you, no. Because we’ve got just the solution, and it begins with your bed.
The Problem With a Bad Bed
First of all, we need to address the issue with your bed. Are you feeling aches and pains when you wake up? Does your mattress sag and you have trouble falling asleep? Or do you feel like the mattress doesn’t support your spine and you can’t get comfortable? All of these are signs of a bad bed and we would like to try and help you resolve this. Whilst we sleep, our bodies recover, repairing tissue damage, removing toxins and building new mental pathways in our brain. None of this can take place on a bad bed, not well at least. In fact, bad sleep can lead to memory and concentration problems. Neither of which are good signs for your job, especially if it’s particularly taxing or requires a good memory, as most jobs do.
But that’s not all. Weakened immune systems are another problem of bad sleep. With the world recently thrown into a bit of chaos over a certain virus, we should all be considering how strong our immune systems are and what we can do to support them. That way if a new variation or two rolls around, we’re ready for them and don’t have to lock anything down. Unfortunately the problems with bad sleep don’t end there either. High blood pressure, obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases are just a few of the side effects of a bad night’s sleep.
Choosing a Bed That You’ll Love Sleeping In
So we’ve established you need a new bed, but how do you go about choosing one? What even makes a good bed vs a bad bed, other than the quality of sleep you get in it? You could head to your local bed store and see if they’ll let you have a nap to test the bed, but we’ve got a better idea for you.
The Adjustable Bed Base EB01 is the perfect bed for anyone struggling to sleep. This bed is designed for customisable comfort. The back of the bed can be height adjusted from 0 to 60 degrees, allowing you to find the perfect position to read, watch, sleep or relax. No more stacking up pillows for you in order to enjoy a good book. Not only does this help you to sleep, but it’s also great for reducing back pain. We haven’t even got to the best part. You can combine two Twin XL beds to form a Split King Bed, which means that both you and your sleeping partner can adjust your bed height separately for better night’s sleep.
