Tight job schedules often call for dealing with a whole lot of stress, undue pressure at work can take a serious toll on your mental and physical health. Every employee must take care of their health by staying healthy, fit, and active even when they’re working. But with so much to deal with on your plate, you might be wondering how it may be possible. Well for starters, maintaining good eating habits play a significant role in maintaining one’s health, but in order for you to stay active, know that exercise can take things even further for you.
Inactivity is the primary cause of boredom in tasks, individuals who stay seated for prolonged periods may feel drained and exhausted faster as opposed to those who indulge themselves in mild physical activity. Laziness at work can lead to compromising productivity, therefore all workers must stay fit and healthy to collectively achieve their business goals.

Reconsider your way to commute
If you live somewhere close to your workstation, we recommend that you try walking to work instead of taking the bus or driving your car, especially when the weather is pleasant. You can even consider jogging to and from work, especially if you can save up on some extra time to change into your gear. Using a bicycle is also just as great, it doubles as an exercise to keep you fit. Not to mention, it is environmentally friendly and it also saves up on a lot of money otherwise spent on gas
Workout during lunch hours
We know, working out when all you can do is eat sounds pretty tragic, but not at the cost of your health, right? Besides, it’s all about time management. You can still work out and eat (not simultaneously) if you create a schedule as per that. Try going for a small jog around the office or in case your office doesn’t have a gym, head to the nearest one. This also poses an ideal solution for employees who may not be allowed to leave the office area during lunch hours due to tight schedules or office rules.
When it comes to snacking, ensure that you eat something healthy. Be careful not to consume too many fats or carbs or the feeling of you being full may lead to lethargy during remaining office hours. Also, be careful to not get involved in any heavy excursion after you just ate or you might get nauseous.
Stay active during breaks
Always remember to take short breaks during your work schedule. If your job provides you with fixed breaks, that works just as fine too. Be sure to utilize them by staying active. Head out to get some fresh air and exhale all the negativity, or you can even take a stroll in the park if your office is located to one close by.
However, if your office does not permit employees to go out during breaks, you can even walk around the office. Doing so will maintain your mind and body’s health while allowing you to rest from the monotonous tasks and focus on your health for a change instead.
Skip the elevator/escalator
We know this might be a serious struggle, and you’re probably in one of those situations where you can’t decide whether to go by the flight of stairs or just take the free-way elevator service instead. The smart option, however, would be to always go by the stairs even if your office is located on the second, sixth, or even tenth floor! Don’t tire yourself, and take your time on the stairs, but doing so can help your body to stay fit and active during office hours.
Not to mention it helps strengthen leg muscles while giving you some extra cardio as you make your way up and down the office. You could even consider choosing to climb the stairs during breaks to stay moving and active.
If your office is way too high, you can take the elevator for a couple of floors, and climb the stairs for the remaining floors that lead you to your office.
